Canadian parents weigh in on the hockey vs. education debate

We took to the hockey arenas of the nation to find out first hand from parents how they’re balancing their children’s hockey and education costs.

Here’s what they had to say.

Father of four, Brian Gray says he’s spent a lot of money on hockey and knows the toll it takes on a family’s finances.

Father of two, Bob Sangary says he spends as much as $1500 a season, not including equipment.

Mother of three, Susan Deering  says she spends not only a lot of money on hockey but time as well. She says parents need to keep all of their options open for their kids and invests in RESPs with the Canadians Scholarship Trust Plan.
